Environmental Statement

Kennedy Air Conditioning recognized the importance of using green materials, reducing waste and recycling, long before it became the popular trend that it is today. Years before LEED, we recognized that if each individual, family and corporation did its small part, we could prevent immense amounts of waste and pollutants from entering our environmental chain.

Here at Kennedy’s,

  •  We promote the use of environmentally friendly 410a refrigerants. In fact, we led the state in the promotion and sales of high-efficiency equipment and these new refrigerants when they first became available more than a decade ago.
  • We reclaim refrigerants according to EPA standards.
  • We recycle old air conditioning units, cooling coils, heating units, and galvanized duct work.
  • All new thermostats that we install are non-mercury, electronic stats made by the Honeywell.
  • We recycle our cardboard containers..
  • We have a computerized filing system to reduce paper files.
  • When paper files are necessary, we use recycled paper, reuse paper where possible, and recycle our paper when we can no longer reuse it.
  • We utilize a network printer instead of workstation printers, to reduce ink cartridge use.
  • We purchase recycled laptops for our field techs.
  • We install non-fiberglass filters in our service agreement customers’ systems to protect the indoor air quality of their buildings.
  • We install Honeywell energy management systems to reduce the energy consumption of commercial buildings and increase the life of the HVAC while maintaining comfort and air quality.
  • We also use an energy management system in our own building.
  • We install Honeywell programmable thermostats for our residential customers, as well as high- efficiency heating and cooling systems to reduce energy consumption while maintaining comfort and air quality.

We are members of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers), an international organization founded in 1894 to advance heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration, promoting a sustainable world through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education. We are also members of the U.S. Green Building CouncilArkansas Chapter, a nonprofit community of leaders working to make green buildings available to everyone. And we participate in NATE certification to ensure that our technicians meet its stringent nationwide standards of excellence.
